WIN2K Upgrade – Explorer.exe problem

Upgraded NT 4 to WIN2k Pro, only one problem: when I open My Computer or Windows Explorer it shuts itself down (empties the systray and refreshes the desktop).
I can only view the contents of the drives through Command Prompt.
-Compaq DeskPro EN series
-No additional hardware
-Novell Client 4.71
-No NT Domain
