Win95/98 is hanging for no reason.

Example point to Start, then Programs is takes 45 sec. to 1 minutes for the Programs menu to appear or when in Microsoft Word 97 and selecting File is takes an unusally long time for the menue to open.I’ve reloaded Win98 and Microsoft Word this didn’t help.
