I have two PCs at home, one running Windows XP
and the other Windows 98SE. I have attempted to
set up a simple home network using catagory 5
cable, a Linksys router and DSL modem. The router seems to be working fine and I have no problems with the Windows XP PC connecting to the Internet.
The Windows 98SE PC is not seen by the Windows XP
PC on the network, not can the Windows 98SE PC
communicate with the Internet. Should the Windows
XP machine always be the “host” PC? Is there an
order to follow when setting up this network?
What network communications settings need to be
selected in Windows 98SE in order for it to “see”
the local area network?
A step-by-step proceedure would be very helpful.
Thanks!
