How can I fix the problem of my cd audio in win98? While my Grandson was playing some of his learning cds, he noticed that the cd wouldn’t auto load. I checked the system resources, found autoinsert notification was still checked. I created a shortcut for him so he could play. When I tried to play an audio cd the system hangs, even while checking the properties on the multimedia properties screen. I uninstalled windows media player which had added the extension .cda to the audio cdrom, I also uninstalled realplayer which wouldn’t recognize the extension. I am still not able to play the audio cd with cdplayer either. I downloaded audio crusher, and the cd plays and the .cda extension is gone. Can you help? Is this a windows problem? If so how can I fix it?
Thanks,
