Win98: Invalid VxD even on reinstall

Hi,

I keep on getting the same error message after clean reinstalling Windows98:

While initialising device FWDRV:
Invalid VxD dynamic link call to device number 28

Invalid VxD dynamic link call from FWDRV(01) + 00011B98 to device “0028”, service 8016. Your windows configuration is invalid.

Please run Setup again to fix the problem.

I have some bad clusters on the hard drive – could this be the problem?
