Windows 2000 Backup

I want to use Windows 2000 Backup to back up my files to a blank CD in my CD Writer. I could do this with the backup software in Windows 98 but WIndows 2000 refuses to see the CD Writer as a valid backup device. I could use script files but this would be messy as I have dozens of 2 and 3 PC networks to support and tape is too expensive for the minimal amount of data being backed up.

Any ideas?
