Windows 2000 explorer crashes

When I right click on a file to copy and paste or to execute any other function in windows explorer an error message appears. “Explorer has generated errors & will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.” This action also takes out some programs from the systen tray. I have reinstalled windows – no difference. Any suggestions?
