Windows 2000 Print Server Web Interface

by jeremyhoughton . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

Hi all,

I am just entering a new admin job. I am going to be upgrading the Enterprise network to Win 2000. We will be using Advanced Server for the Domain Controllers and Member Servers will have 2000 Server.

The question I have is that I amnow upgrading the File and Print Server to 2000 Server and I know that there is a web interface for the print server side of this.

I have never implemented this and was wondering if any of you knew of a good resource to find information on this. I am wanting to have the drivers reside on the server (of course 🙂 and I want the web interface to be used by my users in the environment. I want them to just be able to open an intranet page and click on an icon on the page and have it installthe drivers.

Reason for this is that this is a call center environment and the policy for the company is not to let the users see anything especially the control panel and printers menu. So if they need to use a different printer this will allowthem to install it without calling for support from our guys here.

Thanks for any help!
