Windows 2000 Pro, not restarting

by glennmelton . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

Hello everyone,

We are just starting to roll out Windows 2000 Pro to our users in my company, and I have run into a small problem.

Some of our users use IBM AS/400 Client Access, and it has worked fine on all of our Win95/98/NT4.0 boxes, but when installing on a windows 2000 box, after installing, the machine will only go to a black screen when choosing “Restart” from the shut-down menu.

I have uninstalled the Client Access software, and still the Windows 2000 box will not restart properly.

I have found a Windows 2000 patch for the Client Access software from IBM, and will install it, but I still need to fix the machine so it will restart.

Does anyone know where or what in the Registry to change to fix this problem? Or am Istuck reinstalling Windows 2000?

Thanks for any help you can provide,
