Windows 2000 restricted access

I have inherited a couple Win2k machines from a company which is relocating. While attempting to reconfigure the machines, I discovered that someone restricted the admin account so I can’t uninstall programs or change network settings. I looked at account policies but did not see anything obvious. Can anyone tell me where I might go to restore privledges so I can add/remove programs and make changes to the network settings.
