Windows 2000 server in Win NT 4 Domain

How can I intergrate 2 or more Windows 2000 servers into an existing Windows NT 4.0 domain. We are using the lmhosts file to connect existing BDC’s to the PDC. IF the W2K server (single server) is on the same network segment it sees the PDC but a remote W2K server cannot see the PDC. Currently because of our NDS WAN we are not permitted to install Active Directory, so that is not an option.
