My windows 2000 server acting as a BDC suddenly restarted.
How could I find out the reason (power fluctuation is not the reason). I cannot physically access the server. I’m remotely administering that using Terminal Services.
I have looked at the following sources but could not find any relevant information.
-Events Log
-Dr. Watson Log (Did not exist any log file)
-Memory dump file (no dump file found, though dump file creation option is enabled.
-All the log files generated aroung the time of restart.
I’m surely ruling out the power fluctuation reason, because that surely did not happen.
I am also ruling out the virus reason because the server has been completely patched and virus definitions are also upto date.
Is there any other possibility?
My primary objective is to determine possibiliy all the sources (system logs, event logs, etc.) that could give some insight into why the system restarted.
Please help me to find if there is any other place to look at for the reason of Server restart.
Thanks in advance
