windows 2000 server startup problem

hi
when i turn on my computer there is a message box prompts stating that “wins could not start due to a missing or corrupt database……” and the other problem is if i select to automate the “event log” from services then my computer become slow,very slow, if fact in in task manager i can see that services process using 100% of cpu.
i’ll be really thankfull to you and techrepublic if you could help me out..
