Windows 2000 SP2 and IE 5.01 SP2

After installing Windows 2000 SP2, when every I try and go to the Windows Update page install updates. They fail. I’m using IE 5.01 SP2. And since this is the standard for the company, going to IE 5.5 is not really a viable option. Has anyone run into this issue and found a work around. Thanks.
