Windows 2000 terminal server

I am having a problem keeping my clients connected to the terminal server. They access the server through a VPN and they session and idle limits are set to 2 days. A few are being disconnected after about 10 minutes of idle and occasionally they have been disconnected while actively in an application. Does anyone have a solution?
