Windows 2000 Ultra DMA

I installed an Quantum Fireball AS30 20GB (7200rpm) ATA-100 on my compaq Presario 5838 running Windows 2000 server using Cable-Select as secondary drive on one 80pin cable. My primary drive is also a UltraDMA drive.

My questions and appreciateanybody’s help:

Windows 2000 doesn’t seem to allow both drive running on UltraDMA mode? The primary drive will somehow always run at PIO Mode even if I select the IDE Driver property as “DMA if available”. The 2nd drive runs at ultra dma. WhenI switch the drive position (with great pain and installing software), which ever drive showing as Primary still run at PIO while the 2nd run as Ultra DMA? I installed Windows 2000 SP2 and all possible update from microsoft but still not result.Can anyone help?
