Windows 2k dialup IE problems

Hello! I just installed Windows 2000 professional edition on my previously Windows98 computer that was practically ruined thanks to Novell. I am running AOL as the connection to the internet (56k)… For some reason, I can play online games, and I can check my aol email and IM people on aol, yet I cannot run Internet explorer or Netscape with results that the page cannot be displayed. Also, AIM won’t connect…I believe there is a settings problem, and that’s simply it…If anyone knows how to configure IE/Netscape for a dialup connection (AOL) on Windows2000 so that maybe I can get it to work again, it would be greatly appreciated. I am not exactly sure what’s wrong, but I don’t believe anything big.
