Windows 2K Pro dropping permissions?

I’m wondering if this is happening else where or if anyone else has heard of this.

I have several Win 2K Pro boxes and two of them are giving me an interesting problem.

The permissions on the files and folders are being lost. Dropped right off. When you look at the security on the files/folders, no permissions are listed, neither is there an owner. I have to take ownership and re-assign the permissions to correct.

Has this come up before?
