Windows 98 out of range

I have a computer that has win98 on it. Every time it boots up the windows screen will come up and then go blank with a message that says “windows is out of range”. It will allow me to go into windows in safe mode but I still haven’t figured out to fix the porblem. I’m not sure if I can even fix it in safe mode. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
