windows explorer double click change

something has changed the double click status of my explorer from the default “open” to “search”. when i double click on any folder/file within explorer a search window opens instead of the folder opening. if i right click on the folder/file the first and the emboldened item on the list is “search” not “open”. where can i change this back? thanks in advance.
