Windows Freezing

Hi

I work in an Elementary school. I have a
gateway e-3200 with 128mb of ram operating with Windows 95b. A problem has recently surfaced with this computer. When you put a cd in, the computer freezes. Many kid’s touch this computer, so I am not sure what caused it. The computer runs fine when not trying the cd rom. I have replaced the cdrom with another. The freezing still occurs. I also replaced the IDE cable and again the computer still freezes. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
