Windows HP LaserJet Printer Drivers

Do HP LaserJet printers/print drivers send a “reset” command at the conclusion of each Windows’ print job? I’m looking to share an HPLJ 4000 between two PCs using an electronic printer switch. PC #1 must use the font that has been selected in the printer’s set-up menu. PC #2 is a Windows 95/98 PC and will be generating print jobs from a number of Windows apps. At the conclusion of the Windows print job, will the printer be reset to it’s internal defaults (which will make it ready to be used by PC #1)?
