Windows ME

My computer recently began to restart by itself and resets to a small resolution. It will do this while I’m on AOL or offline in a program such as Word, a game, or in Corel Webmaster. What happened and what can I do to fix the problem?

(I haven’t added any new software recently) I appreciate your input.
