Windows ME installing error

After installing Windows ME, during setup I encouter an error while identifying the driver for plug and play. It continues to tell me to reboot with my bootup disk and I do so, however the same thing happens over and over. I have a feeling it could be a damage or corrupt card. Any suggestions would be helpfull in order to troubleshoot.
