Windows ME ScanDisk at startup

When running Windows ME on a Mobile Sony Computer. How do I stop the Scandisk from running everytime I bootup or start up the Mobile/Laptop Computer? What is the step that I need to take to prevent Windows from running ScanDisk at every startup?
