Windows Media Player Video Problem.

by ryu98 . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

Hi i’m having problems playing an avi video on WMP v 7.01. The problem is that first when i try to play the video it will start by trying to look for some codec.. then i will get a popup message “video not available, cannot find vids:div4 decompressor. Then after that the popup message goes away and i can hear the sound. I check the properties of the video an it said:
Audio format: MPEG Layer-3,15kBit/s, 11,025 Hz, Mono
Video format: Unknown format

I play the video on another machine with the same Media player and it works fine. I even reinstall the Media play and still doesn’t work.. i check the system properties on both machines and they look alike.. Another thing i check the knowledge base of Microsoft and i don’t seem to find a similiar prob like this..

So What can i do next?

Ismael
