Windows Movie Maker

by huoml . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

I have Windows XP Pro with SP2 and ALL the latest security patches and upgrades. Over more than 2 years or so (since I installed XP) I have installed/uninstalled many trial/free audio/video programs (not to mention other programs that have nothing to do with audio/video) to test/satisfy curiosity about capture/edit of video clips.

The moivemaker is not working anymore and I am not sure when it stopped working. I start the program and within seconds it abends giving standard dialog box giving me a choice to send debug info to MS. MM version is supposed to be the latest one available from MS site via ‘automatic updates’.

I hae tried to find if I could do anything to fixt it so MM will work, but have not found any suggestion that actually worked for me.

any pointers? (other than MM is crappy and use other freely avalialbe programs).
