windows NT’s settings

I want to develop mail system using JavaMailAPI using windowsNT server which supports mailing system.To test it,I want to set windowsNT server to send/receive mails.
I want what all settings are to be done?
Is there any default ‘postoffice’ directory in windows messaging?
