Windows Shut Down

I am having trouble shutting down my computer. OS is Windows ME and everytime I go to shut down it gives me this message:

Exception 06 has occured @ 0028:00000003 in VxD—. This was called from 0028:C002F285 in VxD—.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
