Windows Update problems

I am getting a message telling me that I need to be logged on as an administrator to do windows update from one of my servers. I know for a fact I am on as an administrator but it will not allow me to do updates. This server is configured a little different than my other servers with alot of the services disabled and I am wondering if one of the services that are shutdown are causing the problem.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
