Windows XP – DVD issue

Loaded Windows XP on new computer (P4/2.2) with an LG DVD-ROM DRD-8160B. DVD is recognized in BIOS Setup Menu and in Device Manager. It is set to Master via Jumper. The drive letter doesn’t appear in explorer and CD’s do not autostart. Properties indicate driver is not required and device is functioning properly.
