Windows XP harddrive

has anyone come across and issue with XP and harddrives. I have had about 10 machines that had to get new drives after i installed xp on them…. I am not sure if this is a known issue but i never had a problem with the machines harddrives till i decided to turn them into xp clients. I have researched microsofts site and have not found a good solution. Can anyone assist me on this issue and show me facts or documents?
