Well I’m having a lot of problems with XP, it seems like a good OS, but it’s just not happening yet. Here are my problems…
1. When I try to Recieve my email using Outlook Express it will almost always get stuck on one of the account names (I use 3). It’s usually stuck on Authorizing or Checking Mail, but it varies. I know this isn’t my provider because it still works fine on Win98SE on the same computer.
2. When using Internet Explorer it takes it WAY too much time to connect to FTP servers and usually it just won’t. When I finally do connect it is still usually moving slow around the folders. This isn’t just the connection moving slowly…the entire IE window is almost frozen, I usually have to End it or just wait a few minutes for it to not connect. (I use a cable modem)
3. Internet Explorer isn’t sending web site form data, it almost always gives me an error screen, at least 9 times out of 10. This can be annoying since one of my jobs centers around me entering hundreds of internet forms and with this problem I have to enter the same one dozens of times.
4. Possibly the most awkward is that if I’m trying to use Logic Audio it can’t find my hardware or says it’s malfunctioning, but if I use a Steinberg product such as Nuendo, my CPU Usage is around 50% while nothing is happening and goes to 100% while just playing back a simple midi file. Certain audio programs (such as Wavelab) crash before completely opening as well.
Win XP was a clean install, all drivers are updated. I’ve tried all the tweaks like disabling ACPI and setting background services to recieve priority.
I hope somebody can help. Thanks.
