Windows XP Home edition shutdown problem

by volovoy . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

In our office I have laptop Compaq Presario 1800US (RAM 192 Mb, HDD 30Gb, NIC Intel 8255x built-in)with preinstalled Windows ME. Network is Novell 4.11, SP8. I ordered CD from Compaq and upgraded Windows ME to Windows HP Home edition – my boss askedme to do this. Client32 version 4.82 from Novell is loaded on this computer. Now I have constant problem with shutdowm or just simply with restarting this computer. I have constant error message which I can’t see or print because it appears only forfew seconds. Every new start begins with scandisk. If I uninstall Novell client 4.82, everything goes well, but computer is out of the network of course. I install it again and shutdown problem come back. Who can help? Please give me ideas.
Alex
