I am looking for a solution as this has been baffling me for some time now, when viewing tiff files in Windows xp with 1gb ram or more especially on Dell Gx 280 or 620 the picture is black ie can not be viewed the only solution i have comer up with is to reduce the virtual memory eg min and max to be 200-500mb thats seems to work, however recently some other apps particular word 2002 intermettily says there is not enough disk space and low on virtual memory messages, hard drive sizes are around 80Gb so the chance sof paging are slim. Please note if you use the microsoft page file formaula you can not open tiff files using the built ins/w Documenmt imaging on xp yyou have to lower the page file.
has anyone come accross this and is there a real solution ie permannet as the one i apply seems to be work for a while then i have to delete the page file and resize it again
