Windows XP Pro – Slow Reponse

Just installed a new IBM Computer, running Windows XP Pro, 1gig of Ram, and plenty of Harddrive space. The Operating system will tend to get sluggish for no apparent reason. Running Lotus Notes, IBM Personal Communications (pc3270), and Microsoft Office products.
