Windows XP – Problem with JVM

I am having problem viewing applets in my Internet Explorer.
I have installed MS Java Virtual Machine on XP, but that didn’t worked. Earlier it used to work fine but now it is giving me problems.
I have installed SP1 and tried to set Microsoft Virual Machine as default for Java though “Set Program Access and Defaults”, but it automatically changes to “Use my current virtual machine for Java”.

How do I resolve this Problem?
