Windows XP Search Stalling

I am having a problem with a search stalling at a certain point and refusing to end. It seems that while searching the network from any computer the serach will stall if the entire shared drive is searched. It seems to stop in the same folder each time and when trying to stop the search it will not end and will stop any searches from then on from going through until explorer is restarted. I thought maybe there was a corrupt file in that certain folder, but when that folder alone is searched the search goes through just fine. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
