Windows XP Shut Down

After installing Windows XP Pro on one of my workstations (I upgraded from Home), I find that the PC no longer powers itself off. Instead the “It is now safe to turn off your computer” message comes up when you perform a shut down. Does anyone know how to change this? I have checked the CMOS settings on the PC itself and these settings appear to be right.
