Windows XP SP1 / EXE FIle associations?

Seems that after rebooting my Machine after installing SP1 I cannot run any exe files without getting the following message.

“This file does not have a program associated with it for peforming this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.”

Not sure what to do at this point. Please help????
