I have recently upgraded a computer on our network from Windows2000 to WindowsXP. Since this upgrade I am having problems with the file attributes on a network drive when accessing it from the WindowsXP machine, I cannot remove “read only”. The network drive is stored on a Windows95 machine. The WindowsXP machine is using the NTFS file system. When trying to access the same network drive from a non-WindowsXP machine, the contents of the drive do not have the read only attribute set. Any ideas why this would be the case? And how to get around it? Thanks in advance.
