I recently got a new computer. PIII 1k, 128 RAM, SB live 5.1, ATI Radeon 32DDR LE, 2 NIC’s and a modem, DVD and CD-RW. I used Ghost to dump my old HDD onto the new one. Not ideal, but didn’t want to lose some stuff. Redid all the drivers, etc.When I am online (IE 5.5, Outlook Express)it tends to lock up, and Outlook locks up in newsgroups. If I do ctrl-alt-delete, two tabs, and enter, it will shut down. Any ideas? Also, I tried to reinstall WinMe, and it took FOREVER – just sat on “initializing driver database” and “setting up plug and play”. I left, and when I came back a few hours later it was installed. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome (aside from “wipe it and clean install”. I know that might be the only answer, but it’s a last resort. I’m hoping for something else.:-) )
