WINNT ‘server’ service will not start

I rebooted the server as it was slow and then the ‘server’ service would not start hence netlogon and Exchange services. Not happy any ideas, maybe the nic card but it performs the INTEL diags OK, cannot seem to find the dependencies required to check.
