winXP Bootup Issues

hi guys,

i am having P4 1.6 ghz 384 MB DDR memory…my problem is that now when i switch on the PC on boot up a messa ge comes as ” Missing operating system” i do not have any other os instaled as wel as i checked the boot seq. on bios its fine.. what do you guys think? Need help fast.
