wireles card adapter is sharing resources

How can I solve the following issue?
When I insert the wireless liksys card adapter into the slot, the computer freezes. I ran a Windows xp home edition diagnostics that tells me that the adapter is sharing resources with other devices, and I must free the resources from the other devices.
