Word 2000 sr-1 crashing when accessing network resources

I don’t even know if I’m posting this in the right spot. I’ve been flamed before here for doing that, so hopefully I’m in the right spot.

I’ve got a user who’s having some issues with her Word 2000 SR-1. When she goes to File > Open, and tries to open a network drive to browse for files, Word hangs indefinitely. I signed into this same machine and the problem didn’t happen for me. I’ve search every combination of words in Google and I just can’t find any fixes for this. Hell, I can’t even find any instances of this same thing happening.
