Word & IE Behaving Oddly

I have a client with an unusual problem.

They have Win2k on a computer that is only 6 months old and when they scroll down a web page with IE the page automatically scrolls back to the top.

Also if they have MS Word open and leave it idle for a couple of moments characters begin to be typed into the document.

I’ve seen the IE scrolling issue before but it’s been some years ago and can’t remember what the solution was.

Any suggestions?
