Wordpad: problem opening

When I try to open Wordpad, I get a Compression Agent window that says that Compression Agent only runs on DriveSpace 3 compressed drives. It then asks if I want to run DriveSpace3 to compress my drive or to upgrade it to DriveSpace3 format. I always say no, the window closes and wordpad also closes. Whats up? This is so annoying.
