Workgroups & Network ID Wizard

I wanted to create a new workgroup outside my current domain (so I can test some new software) and add
the machine I was using to that workgroup. I choose to run the network ID
wizard available under system properties (located on the network
Identification tab). The label says that is used to join a domain and create
a new local user.
I ran the wizard but was not asked to create a local user but I did state
that there was not a domain controller.

Can anyone tell me what the local user might be as it
appears I am now locked out of the one and only machine in
the domain (the one I ran the wizard on), how might one
work around this.

Is it possible for someone (network administrators for example) to take
ownership of any machine viewable under the Microsoft windows network.
