XP accessing a Win 98 shared file

I have a windows 98 SE pc that is sharing its C drive with a passowrd. I can connect to the drive with my NT 4.0 pc but I am not able to connect with my XP computer. I have changed the password to blank and I am able to connect with the XP machine. I then changed the password back to what it was and I am not able to connect.
